Docs,My pt. who I mentioned recently that had her knee surgical scraped for chondromalacia patella also has a gnarly baker’s cyst. This cyst is as hard as a Brussels sprout. A surgeon tried to drain it and proclaimed that it was too viscous to get anything out. It is pressing on the medial hamstring tendon in full extension and drives her nuts.I just started ultrasounding it to break it up.I suppose I could do some untrained and unauthorized Graston on it.She did not tolerate a cho-pat brace and feels that her quad is too atrophied for it to I think we’ll try injecting it with lidocane and B12.She’s an avid athlete and is anxious to return to running pain free.Any ideas for a stubborn baker’s cyst?(Anyone ever heard of removing the bursa altogether?)Thanks, E.
