Guest guest
If you are interested I am a Master's Degree candidate at Roosevelt University in the Integrated Marketing Communication program. I needed to conduct a research study and I chose this real world product. I just thought it was interesting. I have been eating a low- carb diet for two years and regularly exercise. I have sworn off alcohol because I am afraid to gain weight, or ruin my diet. I would just like some other ladies' perspectives. I chose Bacardi because they are giving an alternative to beer. Either way, I won't touch the alcohol. It can become a problem during social situations but my friends and families have got use to the fact that I stick devoted to water. Thanks Pelayo > > Hello Everyone! > > I frequently exercise and eat a low-carb diet to maintain my weight. > I have almost totally sworn off alcohol. > > However, there are new low-carb alcoholic drinks on the market. Guest guest
Hey , I took your survey although I'm not sure how helpful my answers will be since I only drink about two tablespoons of alcohol a year out of politeness at weddings. LOL. It's tough for me to get into something that tastes vile to my palate, gives me a headache almost instantly, has no nutritional value, and actually makes me feel like I'm losing IQ points. Good luck with your research! Maggie > > If you are interested I am a Master's Degree candidate at Roosevelt > University in the Integrated Marketing Communication program. Guest guest
, I also took the survey, and it seemed to me marketing from the company that makes that one product. I have a beef with the alcohol manufacturers who are promoting their products as part of that whole " low carb lifestyle " thing. Alcohol technically doesn't have carbohydrate, but the metabolism of it is actually more difficult for the body than digesting Skittles. If you go to Skwigg's site, in Stuff to Read, there's a great article on alcohol and fat loss. I love expensive wine, good beer, and martinis. Really love them. However, I've cut out all alcohol, in addition to sugar, flour, and processed carbs because I'm committed to achieving an awesome body composition. Like 17% body fat. Actually, I'm also in the process of reversing pre-diabetes, successfully with this diet and BFL workouts. My teenage son asked me if I would ever eat sugar again. My response was " Three times a year. Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and January 28 (birthday). " I'm thinking that on those days I may have to choose between a glass of wine and pumpkin pie, or martini and chocolate torte. Sugar and alcohol hangovers are both too painful when I've got stuff to do. Like lunges and pushups! Guest guest
Don't forget the bottom line: when your liver is metabolizing alcohol (a toxin) it STOPS metabolizing fat... so your fat loss will grind to a halt ANY time you consume alcohol. However... if you have no fat to lose, that's another story. (It still won't change the fact that alcohol is essentially toxic, and that's why you get a " buzz " from it) Just my 2¢ ; )
Guest guest
Hey, you're welcome. Things get repeated a lot around here... but they need to be, because new members are always coming in. BTW... I do like to have a drink now and then... but I think I'm gonna try and lay off 'til I've reached my fat loss goals. I'm tired of getting nowhere! www.sistersunshine.com RE: Re: Low Carb-Alcoholic Beverages Thanks Lydia!
