I had an extremely busy work weekend... Friday evening andria Balahoutis owner of Strange In visible Perfumes on Abbott Kinney in Venice, California had a lovely Christmas Party. andria's store is absolutely stunning. Upon walking in she has her complete line of 23 perfumes all organic botanicals aligned along a counter with a rep behind the counter that describes the essences and the story behind the creation of andria's perfumes with ease and grace. All are unisex but some have become favorites of the male gender and some more to the female gender. Her perfumes are very distinct and creative...One she created named Aramaic contains Blue Lotus, Agarwood, incense and Cardamom....very unusual and one of my favorites..I also fell in love with her L'Invisible..composed of Ylang Ylang, Oak Moss, and Moroccan Red Rose. Another perfume I found extremely lovely and intriguing Etrange..composed of a bouquet of Far Eastern Flowers, Ginger and Seaweed..It is an aromatic tribute to the lost art of 18th century perfumery...andria is an extremely talented aromatic artist... The party was extremely fun and smelled yummy..along with beautiful armotics filling the store she had a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, champagne, wine, cocoa, hot cider, cheeses and cookies everything organic EVEN THE PLATES! Integrity at its finest, they make a firm statement that they believe in supporting the ecosystem and in preserving our natural resources. Another very intriguing item...She has a perfume dispenser that will allow the customer to try the perfume essence and it holds 9 perfumes and allows one drop of the essence to be released. She also has a beautiful sitting room for the allowance of a custom blended perfume. Other items that caught my eye were lovely frosted glass candles with bright purple bows and Lavender Verveine and Sicilian Lemon body wash..that andria created... A new perfume andria launched in November is Magazine Street and all proceeds go to the Katrina Relief... If you haven't seen andria's web site it is www.siperfumes.com Also many thanks to her kind, knowledgeable staff that I was fortunate to meet that hopefully if you are ever in the area you will be able to meet as well, Ray and Myla...
