I had a surprise vistor today who just dropped by to give me a book

she had promised me months ago. " The Art of Perfume " Discovering and

Collecting Perfume Bottles by Christie Mayer Lefkowith.

Oh my Goddess!!!Some of the bottles are superb, fantastic, ingenious

works of art. Bottles so exquisite...some ornate others plain, some

packaged in amazing leather boxes, which are like....ok I cannot

describe them so well. I will find out if I am allowed to photocopy

some of my favourites and post them into the photos section, it might

be alright if I put the source name.

I will find out. I know we have at least one collector of perfume

bottles on the group. Has anybody ever seen the book I am raving about?

Back in 98, when I was putting up my first perfume webpages, I copied

some of her photos off her website, and wrote her asking if I could

use them, telling her the page was only put up that day for her to

view. She just about bit my head off. Good luck.

I have a lot of the original jpgs if she gives the OK.

Hi Ruth,

I'm truly fortunate that our county library system has this book as

well as several books on perfume, including 2 or 3 on Czechoslovakian

perfume bottles. I checked them out in order to get the story on my

lovely little green cut glass and crystal bottle that is pictured in

the Photos section of NP. If you can't find the book to purchase, I

would recommend seeing if your local library system carries it. Not

quite the same as pulling it off your bookshelf whenever you want to

take a decadent little visual journey, but still great inspiration.

Cheers!

Andrine

I emailed her so I'll let you all know what she says, maybe she's

mellowed a bit since then..
