Well, that is indeed very sad news - 4711 is such a big part of the history of

perfumery,

and I guess it must be the longest-selling product by quite a way. Maybe someone

will buy

it though - sounds like it could still happen. Still, the product being sold

today probably

bears little resemblance to the original, essential oil-rich version.
