Guest guest
e, Normally I wouldn't have time to post on Christmas day but plans have changed. My husband and son have a terrible virus which came from the grandparents who got it in Guatemala. Won't go into details but it is very, very nasty! But e, I can completely relate! I had a sinking feeling at the beginning of this natural perfumery journey when I first realized I was going to have to do math! And to top it off, I have to take meticulous notes and be organized. It's difficult for most creative types to get the hang of it. I was also good at math in school but quickly forgot everything! I'm trying hard these days to figure out percentages too. You are not alone! Hi , Thanks for chiming in. I hope your husband and son are well on their way to recovery by now. Funny, I've been very good about the note-taking, contrary to my usual inclinations. Not sure why - maybe because I know that all my 'hard' work on creating a recipe will be lost if I don't take them -- and that in turn brings out a side of me that likes the balance between precison and intuition. But yes, I have been surprised to see how I've lost my grip on percentages. Well, any ability we don't use, no matter how simple, can deteriorate from lack of use. I've seen professional mathematicians momentarily stumped by some simple procedure they haven't done in a long while. Thanks for the company. e
