Thanks ,

Well done, both for finding the links and for adding them.

If any members haven't yet checked out the files and links section,

please do, as there is some fantastic stuff in there!

, Liz, somebody has to help me here. I went to the links,

clicked on several of the books, and one page at a time pops up, in

tiff format, which I have to save to my HD to read. There must be an

easier way! Isn't there a way to just DL the entire book?

We have Piesse and Ducasse's books from UMich in the Files section.

When you click that on, you're taken to a page where you can download

the book. Isn't the site from India like that?

The new links folder is called: " Old Perfume & Cosmetics Texts

Available Online " . Hopefully I have done everything correctly (first

time!).

Please feel free to add to this.

Hi Anya,

Some of the books are fully downloadable and are marked pdf and/or

downloadable, but I am sorry, there is no way to currently download

the entire book from the India libraries.

The Online Digital Library entries are for reading online only - they

were intentionally setup that way to prevent full downloading of the

books (I found this out at the FAQS section on one of the many

websites I have visited). Some of the works they have are still

under copyright - it's like borrowing a library book, they don't want

you to photocopy it.

There are several downloadable links I was able to retrieve, but I am

still searching for the others... For me, it isn't great (slow modem

connection) but it is better than nothing...

As I find more, I will add them. Hope this helps,

Warmest Regards,

Hi Janita,

Hope the links are useful - you may want to read the post to Anya -

some are only viewable online unfortunately...

Elderberries are wonderful at this time of year for flu too! (jams,

syrup, etc) - I remember my grandparents used to make elderberry wine

in Berks, England. They grow wild here on our farm in NY,

unfortunately, many get chewed by the deer before they can bear fruit...

I just found those books today - thank you very much, Anya, for this

info. I had no trouble with the UMich at all, and before I expected

I was in the texts. The hardest part being, to stop reading.

What an incredible find. And so many more books to check out...

Back to reading...
