Hi Beth an all

I know MS is hated by many - but they do have good small business

support, which includes online training for their programs - including

Excel.

Have a look here:

You have to register, and they *DO* check to make sure you are running

on *genuine* MS operating systems (if you are not I think they wipe

your hard drive... only kidding :-) I hope!)

I use Excel every day so am fairly OK with it, but I still learned

some tricks from the online tutorial.

I'm glad this topic came up, too, and it came at a perfect time for me because

I'm going to have to adjust prices because one supplier has changed

prices (some going down due to supply but most going up) and another supplier

has announced price changes are coming, though not what they will be.

Like everyone else, I struggle with pricing. In my case it's not just ingredient

cost -- and some of my color energy ingredients are very specialized --

but what to charge for labor. I know I've been screwing myself over in that

area, especially since energy work is part of the production process for

each bottle, but how do you quantify that?

I also need to revise my wholesale pricing. I don't think it works right now.

And with everything else is the constant struggle as to how my sprays are

different from concoctions like liquid sage or -- worse -- Glade.

BTW, Libby, thanks for the idea of using Excel to track your pricing and easily

adjust it. You just might have saved me countless hours with a

calculator in the future -- once I figure out how to use Excel that way, of

course.
