Janita,

The labdanum story sounds familiar! I've just been

realizing how naive I was when I started this

perfumery journey-- I needed a new fragrance because

the only one I had ever liked was no longer available

and I thought that since I couldn't find anything I

wanted to wear, I would just make myself a perfume

which would, of course, be the perfect perfume for me!

Well, this perfect perfume (of my own creation) has

yet to materialize but now there are many natural

perfumes that I adore. And I know that I have made

great strides since the beginning. Still, it helps to

hear that other perfumers made lots of mistakes along

the way.

ps I love your description of learning to communicate

with plants and flowers. That's what this is all

about.
