Hi Amylee,

:o) Our Puppy is just a year old this summer, and he already is over 2 and 1/2 feet tall on all fours... When he stands up on his hind legs he can put his paws on my shoulders and his head rests on my chin, I'm 5'4"... He weighs around 125 #'s... The playpen is a good idea, but he can reach over a playpen better than I can... When he goes into hyper mode, watch out, he can tear the house apart... When he decides its playtime, we get him to the backdoor and let him out and he runs to his hearts content :o) !!! When he decides he wants something he Tries to take it, but he doesn't win, usually, :o) he has been to obidience school and passed with flying colors... The problem is, he has decided that our son is his master and my hubby makes a good second... I'm the one that he tries to get away with everything as he already has figured out that he is stronger than i am... At least he doesn't knock everyone down anymore when greeting them... We had tied a cloth on our backdoor this summer and he went out and came in as he pleased, by pulling this cloth rope that we had tied to the doorknob... He learned that real quick, 3 days ... When it got cold out we closed up the main door, never realizing that he was never taught how to tell us he needed to go outside... The first night with the door shut, I was here at the computer and he came up to me and nipped me, I told him what did he think he was doing??? He barked at me and I shooed him away, told him it wasn't playtime... This continued for about 45 min's. with each nip getting harder and harder... Then it Finally dawned on me he had to go outside as he started his hyper mode and he knew that that would get his bottom end outside! Put him out and he came back in all happy and settled down for the night :o) NOW when he has to go out he nips me!!! So I have to figure out how to stop that, since it got him out that first night he continues to do it and his nips Hurt! :o)

Just talking about this on another group. I had a problem with his first Christmas and being almost 11 months he was bound and determined to climb that tree. My mom had bought him a playpen and I never liked the idea of what we would call prison time. He really hated that playpen BUT all said it did work good for putting the tree in that year. If you don't have one maybe you could borrow one from someone to keep the puppy away from it.

You both are so cute but are you sure that is a puppy and not a horse. Sounds like a smart dog getting himself outside but you know how babies are if nipping worked once he thinks that is the way to go. lol. Shaker the tom is finally taking over some of the training on that kitty of 's she is such a wild kitty but does have a great personality. Shaker will tear through the house and at 18 pounds is a real terror. I can just imagine a pup 100+ pounds doing that. lol.

Hi ,

He's just an oversized teddy bear!!! If you'd go running, he'd be right ahead of you telling ya to hurry up, your too slow!!! :o) He can zip around very fast, he loves to play tag with the girls... When he touches one they freeze, like in freeze tag and he will go onto the next one until all three have stopped running and then they start all over again... They have a ball doing that and so does he... :o)

I wasn't expecting my pic too be taken, my grandaughter picked up my camera and snapped my picture, there are very few of me around, i'm usually the one taking the pics :o) After seeing how old i look, i know now why i don't get mine taken too often :o) I was so tired that day and trying to relax on the couch when Rusty decided that i needed someone to sit with me, he was on my lap and i had to get him off beside me, as he is so heavy his weight is terrible on my legs and chest...then miss smartie snapped our picture...:o)
