Guest guest
Marlen, the Perfume Critic has been increasingly supportive of natural perfumes, despite his self-admitted love of strong, loud mainstream perfumes with a long drydown. Marlen wants many hours of drydown. Oh, and his skin eats my perfumes, he says they vaporize, and that's amazing since most report they last for hours. So he's a tough critic, for sure. He's reviewed two natural perfumes on today's blog: http://www.perfumecritic.com/ He gives of Eie Flud a 10 for her Countryman, and Guild member JoAnne of LeBijou a 7.5 for her Camille. Great ratings from a tough critic. I believe Guild member Ayala got a 9 or 10 from him, also, within the past year. isn't on this group anymore, she helped me a lot after some nastiness occurred here, a self-appointed Mata Hari for want of a better term, ;-) then disappeared. Glad to hear she's still making perfumes and getting them out to the mainstream critics for evaluation. I think that like JoAnne, she doesn't use animal essences in her creations. JoAnne's perfumes have a light, lovely French aesthetic, about a 180 from Marlen's typical scents, so her 7.5 rating is a great accomplishment. His view of her osmanthus use shows he now realizes that although a mainstream perfumer may say they use osmanthus, they don't, and she really does, and knows how to showcase it.
