This is great iel! Thank you for sharing this with all of

us. And thanks to Liz for adding it to the links here. Also, after

digging around the Net for a while, I was not able to find all five

volumes in electronic form, but did find the following at the site

that iel sent us:

To order

Dioscorides. De materia medica. - five books in one volume:

A new English translation by T.A.Osbaldeston.

Introductory notes by R.P.Wood.

First Edition, 2000.

Published by IBIDIS Press, Johannesburg, South Africa.

To purchase

Folks also might want to check out Pliny the Elder's Natural

History, especially Book XIII, The Natural History of Exotic Trees,

and an Account of Unguents. It's available online at Tufts

University. Here's the address:

3A1999.02.0137 & query=toc & layout= & loc=27.1

Happy reading!

Hi Andrine

Coincidentially, Marcello is discussing the Dioscorides Enquerie Into

Plants Vol. 3 on Robin's blog Now Smell This today:

http://nowsmellthis.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2006/11/27/2528388.html

Your second link, on Pliny the Elder's book is made a lot easier to

view at http://tinyurl.com/wumpr

I know both books and links have been discussed in the past here, I

think we need the links to be put permanently in the Files section. I

think Marcello's article would be a good link, too.
