Guest guest
I too obtain a sample of Lin Abs from EB. How many drops of alcohol did you dilute this small amt in? thanks Poh Yee Oops, I just realized I said 1 'drop' of the Linden. I meant one tiny melted scrape. Sorry, that isn't exactly a precise measurement that could help you. But I think with these things we can trust our own experimental instincts. If you go about things conservatively, i.e, add less rather than more of an EO when we are experimenting, we can always simply add more of an ingredient. e

These past ten days or so, I had forgotten all about it, though the dilution was among the little vials which I shake every day. Today reading the posts about linden blossom absolute reminded me to check it, and indeed...it was amazing. I had tried a dilution before but got basically the same smell as the full-strength absolute, and now I understand it was because it was not yet dilute enough. This is a wonderful smell!! I used EB linden blossom abs and I would say that it's more or less as e described it - a tiny melted scrape with thirty drops of alcohol. Alfred, if you can get the $$ together, get Arctander's book. Last year of Renaissance Aromas contacted the publisher and convinced them to pull the naturals volume out of the three volume set (2 on synths). It sells for $349. High? Yes. Priceless? Yes. That is where all the secrets of dilution are, although, oddly, he never touched upon linden! http://allured.stores..net/arpeandflmao.html We're proud to have Allured in the Guild, and the NP community is thankful for them separating out this volume just for us. >This is a wonderful smell!! And you know - among the myriad wonderfulnesses of being on this list as a beginner, is the unselfish guidance that is given to me. So a big thank you! Alfred who bought some rosemary absolute over the weekend that has an almost magical drydown
Guest guest
A little off topic, but still Linden. I accidently tipped over a full bottle (125ml) of diluted Linden Blossom Abs. yesterday. It was on my stainless work table in the studio, and I was able to scoop it up and save almost all of it. But I still stink, and so does my studio! I love Linden, just not so up close and personal.. I also do a Linden tincture that is quite nice, and not so messy. Zz...... The great thing about this list is the dynamics of having so many serious, outgoing members. took the step to contact Allured, many others do lots behind the scenes, so everyone who is proactive deserves thanks for helping create the Files, Links, etc. Anya McCoy Anya's Garden of Natural Perfume http://anyasgarden.com Artisan Natural Perfumers Guild http://artisannaturalperfumers.org Natural Perfumers Community Group /

Sorry about that Zz....I've had a few spills myself and they do tend to linger. I am glad for you it was diluted...and you were able to salvage most..Hopefully it will soften to a lofty citrus forest scent in your studio...a friend called me this morning and said that there is a saying in Argentina..the best part of life is the illusion....I like the saying however, personally I think the best part of it is the imagination...By the way I love Linden too!!
