-- A little recognition

I would like to give a little recognition for a furry friend. I saw the Jane ey show this afternoon and there was kids with aspergers on there. One from Oklahoma who has a service dog. I wanted to do the service dog but was afraid of dogs. I trained our cat Shaker some simple commands like sit and come. The cutest one he does is to shake his front paw when he wants you to come to him. If gets out of bed in the middle of the night he will go down the hallway meowing his head off. You have to remember this is a 18 pound tom cat and when he has to meow he will. He won't meow unless it is an urgent issue. He has a certain way to act when he knows that is going to have a bad day. Sort of gives us a heads up. The only thing that I am trying to break him of is when is getting rambuctious he will stand in front of me until I do something. Those are the times when is a little wild and just playing rough in the house. The picture is of having a bad day and Shaker doing his job to try to calm him.

Dogs and cats have such perception and I love them. My dogs know more than I do on my moods, I am sure of that. Ive had a rotten five past years, when I was so depressed they would shadow me day and night, its as if they knew I was at breaking point and that I should not be left alone.' Sort of we are here for you mom'

One night came a stranger to the door, they all alerted and somehow knew it was a bad visit which it was, a drunk trying to come into the house!

I am notoriusly unfriendly to callers at 1.30 am and so are they!. The dogs really were riled up and wanted to get through the door and bite him, when he saw all the teeth facing him, then he ran away. I called 911 and waited for the police, even 911 said 'they are still riled up.' However, when the police arrived and came in for a statement, they were their usual friendly guys!. The person was picked up down the road,he had two arrest warrants against him and the police ran a profile and shipped him over to the hoosgow! How they knew the difference between police and intruder is anyones guess.

I don't worry about the hair and the extra work, I just love them all.The dogs are Springer Spaniels, not a usually aggressive breed!

WOW I am so glad that they were there for you. About the only thing that Shaker does is if someone new comes in the house he will get between us. I guess if I needed to sic an animal on someone it would be Watermelon the dwarf hamster from Hades. lol. I know about the hair with Shaker being a long hair that means that most of the time our brown carpet has a white layer on top.

Springer Spaniels are a great breed of dog. And they are so so cute.
