Guest guest
I have just returned from Harrogate and heard Thelma Sackman speak about children's trusts. She followed Donna Kinnair who spoke so frankly and movingly about her experiences on the Laming Enquiry. Re children's trusts I was struck dumb when Thelma informed the audience thet Cambridgeshire where I am based has become a children's trust. I work there as a bank HV and a professional development managert albeit very part time. As a bank HV I count for very little and very little is communicated to me. But as professional development manager I think it would be appropriate to know as there are enormous prof dev issues here I should have thought. But worse still I was later talking to one of my colleagues who works in Cambridge full time and she didn't know. What sort of world do we live in where the practitioners do not know about such major stuff as this? Haven't they been through enough to be treated so? What has happened on other areas? Before I fire off an e mail in anger to the Cambridge childrens service manager I would like to hear the views of others .... who may feel more moderate than I do!!
