Wheeling Home Of WV House Candidate Is Condemned

Officials now investigating conditions of Larry Tighe's home on

Chapline street in Wheeling

Police had to enter the house wearing Hazmat suits. Police initially

responded to Larry Tighe's house in the 2300 block of chapline

street for a suspected burglary. Instead of finding evidence of a

crime--they found mold, feces and layers of dirt. Wheeling health

officials and the city solicitors are now investigating. Tighe,

running on the Republican ticket for the third district of the House

of Delegates, says he wasn't forced out because of concern for his

safety. Two dogs and two cats were taken from inside the home, but

appear to be in good health. No charges have been filed against

Tighe, and further action will be determined by the health

department and the city.
