Guest guest
My patient reported this flu like episode with a 3 year sequelae from hell. Kicked it around with Dr. Domby who had stopped by at the end of the day. After talking with the patient about her fiance’ we were both thinking the same thing: “I hope this patient leaves soon so we can go grab a beer and watch Olympic hockey.” HAHA! Actually we were both thinking adrenal overload, overuse, fatigue. The previous docs had already looked into adrenal stuff but some hormonal tests are more nitty gritty than others, like the 24 hour spit collection one. I’ll look over the lab work when it comes but I thought I’d throw it out there for you. As it stands, unless I can think of something obvious, this guy will continue to languish in: Illness Without a Cause.---Starring Dean (’ older brother who never made it to Hollywood due to undiagnosed IBS). My patient wrote a synopsis for you: Hello Dr. ! Thank you so much for taking your time to talk about my fiancé's health issues last night. Attached is the testing he had done with the naturopath. This was done one year ago (he had done it the same time a year before as well). It is hard to read through scanning so just look to your left for most of the results. In August 2006 (my fiance’) felt like he had flu like symptoms. Throwing up, body ache, etc. For about a week or so. Then it would just come and go after that. He got so weak because he was nauseous all the time he wasn't eating...so he was in bed for almost 3 weeks. Slowly, he got back to somewhat of a normal routine. He has had 2 endoscopies and seen kidney specialists, GI doctors, family doctors, heart doctors, etc. This has been going on since 2006. Currently, his symptoms are dizziness, headaches, stomach aches, bloating, nauseous (doctor just put him on anti-nausea meds), itchy skin, tingling in the hands and feet at sporadic times, back pain, restless, fatigue. We are both aware that he now has severe anxiety because of this sickness. I am sure that if you talk to him or give me a set of questions, I can go home and have them all answered. These are the only test results we have copies of, he has had plenty of other testing done as well. Let me know what you think. And, thank you so very much for just looking at this.
