Guest guest
Hi - A patient recently told me about a vaginal moisturizer that provides relief for up to 3 days from one application. I have no details about it's safety but it is hormone free. Look at: www.replens.com Picard N.D. She went on the HRT when it was "the thing all menopausal women do" and not wants to get off it. She doesn't want to stop using the vagifem for the symptomatic benefit but is concerned about then using an estrogen only product with no progresterone. Does anyone know of a good non-hormone product we could use in place of the vagifem to eliminate the exogenous hormone issue completely? Guest guest
At Abell, ND's seminar over the weekend, he suggested having women dip a finger in honey and apply vaginally each day to increase mosture to the vaginal tissues. He said it makes the tissues "plump up." This protocol will also gently treat dysbiosis of the vagina as honey is antimicrobial. Guest guest
I started using oganic royal maca by Medik Herbs for women's hormonal imbalances with good success. (emerson ecologics) Its a great tuberous herb from peru that they have used for years for virility, fertility and overall wellnes. It is adaptogenic for the endocrine system, works on many levels such as estrogen, progesterone, thyroid, pituitary, pancrease etc. I have just started with it but one perimenopausal woman after one month saw a fairly dramatic increase in libido but not as much in vaginal dryness which can take longer to see an affect on. Do be cautious with the dosing, as it can vary for each condition, but for mild/moderate symptoms 1/4 tsp is good. If go to high it can be to stimulating and worsen symptoms.
