Guest guest
Yes, I'm stronger, firmer, lost the roll of fat around my middle and I love eating the BFL way. I am not denying the benefits of BFL and don't plan to stop anytime soon. But lets' face it, we all started because we wanted a transformation like we saw in the book or on the website. I refuse to give up but I am beginning to wonder if I will ever be lean. Everything I've read says that at my age, your body will redistribute fat and most of it will settle around the waist. This seems to be true. I eat an average of 1400-1500 calories/day but I can't seem to lose that " thick " look. An extra 20 lbs of fat looks like fifty on someone who has my stocky build...... I shall keep working on it! Guest guest
Well, you have a good attitude. Good luck! : ) " Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow - what a Ride!' Guest guest
How does one know if they're in perimenopause? Maybe that's why it's taken me all year to get really lean. I'm only talking a couple of fat percentage points too. Do tell. Guest guest
Your doctor can do a test to measure FSH levels or you can try one of the home tests to determine where you are in the menopause cycle. There's no avoiding it so I don't care other than trying to understand why my body isn't responding. I still feel 35 and wouldn't mind looking it too :>) I lost less than 4%BF in C1 but plowed into C2 with enthusiasm. I'm 3/4 done with C2 and I don't think there are ANY significant changes. I have always been athletic and, at 46, still hike, bike, ski and snowboard. I rode my bike 70-90 miles/week this summer while training for a bike tour but I didn't drop an ounce of BF. I had a few " off " years when I was dealing with back-to-back injuries and I put on 5-10 pounds each year. I think it was a double whammy of inactivity and age-related weight gain typical for women over 40. I have struggled since then to regain strength and lose bodyfat. I'm beginning to think that the only thing that's going to work with the bodyfat is a hammer and chisel. For now, I'm going to keep on keeping on. I know that BFL is a good program and I love going to the gym each day with a goal in mind. I am stronger and healthier and I know that my bones are strong. I plan to stay in shape and just get better. There's no " growing old gracefully " chapter in my book. I plan to stay active and challenge myself every step of the way.
