Guest guest
Hi Jeanette I was at home today working and so listened to it. I thought the Netmums lady was great and really supportive and told it like it is. I would have liked a bit more support in a professional sense from the CPHVA - I felt it was not strong enough. Kate - well she gave the Dh message - but I think she was forced at the end to say they would look at it and I guess Netmums will pick it up and I hope those of you who can influence them can bring these issues to a head and make something happen. Will do what I can but feel my influence is now much less Margaret Women`s Hour I listened to today`s progarmme on Women`s Hour and Health visiting. As someone not currently in Health Visiting, but teaching and sitting at home doing lots of preparation, I was interested but dismayed. I felt Kate Billingham re-affirmed her stance on changing Health Visiting and denied the reduction in numbers. The Netmums group were very supportive and gave a good reasoned debate on keeping the service available for all. There is no doubt in my mind that Health Visiting has been undermined and devalued by cost-cutting. Jeanette ps of interest, one of my students who is a young mum can`t speak highly enough of her Health Visitor and constantly reminds me of the support and help she received.
