VCS Engage Consultation Events

Join Children, Young People and Families’ Voluntary Sector colleagues at these free

discussion-based regional consultation workshops. You will learn about VCS Engage and help identify knowledge and skills areas in strategic planning, service delivery and commissioning, for the programme to address.

Aim of the Event:

The aim of these regional Consultation Events is to establish the views of VCS providers and VCS infrastructure support organisations on the barriers existing in relation to strategic planning, service delivery and commissioning around implementing Every Child Matters.

Objectives for the Event:

The VCS Engage Consultation Events will cover the following key areas:

· communicate the overarching aims of VCS Engage

· consult with a wide spectrum of children’s services in the VCS about the barriers and issues they experience in relation to strategic planning and commissioning

· examine ways in which these barriers and issues can be addressed

· identify the ways in which infrastructure support organisations are currently assisting VCS providers

· look at ways in which infrastructure support organisations can work in partnership with VCS Engage to support its aims

· identify factors Local Authorities need to consider when self-evaluating their involvement with VCS children’s services and feed this into the development of a self-evaluation protocol.
