Hey Jenn,

It may be best to check with your doctor first, just to be on the safe side.

But, I think maybe, as long as you are taking your prenatals, and eating

healthy, it should be ok. Check with your OB-GYN to be sure though. :o)

I haven't actually started the BFL program, however, I have been

looking into it and am getting ready to start within the next couple

of weeks. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for breastfeeding

and doing the BFL. I have read a lot about it and it seems like

supplements are a big part of it. Are there any supplements that

are safe to take while breastfeeding? Are they as important as I am

assuming they are? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Actually unless you are doing a challenge, you don't need to use

supplements and might want to skip them while breastfeeding. I don't

have kids so can't help you on tips but I recall reading some posts

awhile back (months ago) on the topic. If you don't get replies, you

can do a search at groups and see if you get any info.

Hi,

I'm also ! And I'm doing BFL while BFing. I suggest staying

away from supplements except for flax oil and a good protein powder.

You don't need anything else. Be patient with everything since the

weight will come off slowly -- your body holds onto fat in order to

make the milk. Make sure you add 500 calories to your daily intake

to provide for this milk production. I've read a lot of things that

say don't go under 1500 cals a day and some that say don't go under

1800 cals a day. I'd say if you're starving or your baby isn't

gaining weight, then increase your cal intake. Also, be sure to get

30% fat, instead of the normal 20% on BFL. Feel free to email me if

you'd like. I started eating the BFL way again back in July and I've

only recently been able to get 5 days of workouts in (not always

getting in all the weight workouts), but I have lost an inch so far

in about 7 weeks.

HTH,

I meant to say an inch in my waist. I've lost a little bit in other

places, but I'm mostly concerned with my waist right now and getting

back into my pre-PG jeans. :D
