Q: persistent vaginal infections

Hello all

I have been working with a client who has persistent recurrent vaginal infections (+3 yrs) as one of her chief complaints. We were originally treating for candida without much success so I had her get a culture 3 months ago which came back +4 Ecoli, no candida yeast or normal flora present. She went for 6 weeks without symptoms, but they recurred recently. I feel as though I have been treating her aggressively and could use some input. We went over hygiene issues washing before and after intercourse and wiping front to back.

A lot of her other complaints have gotten much better (no more chronic sinusitis or constipation, weight loss of >25 lbs – she’s still very overweight and would like to lose about 30 more pounds, improved energy). The vaginal infection has lingered and she is currently going through a layer of depression/anxiety. She is an opera singer and currently in limbo with work so not deriving much satisfaction there. Relationship with husband sounds very fulfilling. Here is what we have been done so far:

BTG’s & AI diet (she is extremely compliant)

Candicin 2 caps BID

HMF Forte 2 caps BID & 4 wks of HMF Replete 1/2 sachet QD

Phytogreens 3 BID

Allimed caps 1-2 BID x 3 mos

Allimed as a suppository QOD alternated with HMF and Yeast Arrest suppositories

Unda’s: 1,20, 245, 243, chel plex, 17, 39, 243..3, 48, 50..tillia tomentosa

Aroma #4 - 10 drops in water or dilute juice BID (this just added recently)

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have used the unda protocol for bladder and kidneys (2,7,44) and this has worked nicely to clear up vaginal infections. Also, Wise Woman makes a berberis suppository which has worked really well. I just view vaginitis as another form of ineffective drainage (like sinusitis). Cathryn Coe, ND Langley, BC
