Dear Colleagues,

As you lobbyist I need you help. There is a huge community event which will occur in Albany at a combination of the Linn County Fair Grounds and the adjacent large park which has an ampitherater which surrounds a lake and that which will be attended by approx 20,000 people. It will be a great venue by which to give our profession some positive PR, PR directed at the profession as a whole do as in PR for individual doctors. I have been asked to put a team of chiropractic physicians together and the theme is "wellness." Here's the deal the fellow organizing the "medical team" is an older Albany Doc who has little use for "chiropractors" and quite frankley very likely has the antequated perception that we are all just a bunch of "quacks." From my first year in practice (1981) I have heard this from co-treated patients and interestingly but very predictably I have heard the most complaints by patients through the years about this very same medic many times more than any other medical doctor in the Albany community. Knowing how devoid this fellows clinic skills are especially relative to musculoskeletal conditions the thought of him heading up a team who's theme is "wellness" is a joke and really sickens me to no end!

The point I'm getting to is I wanna put a team together and provide true "wellness" assessments and recommendations including of course spinal health and wellness that will make this guys little "medic station" look like a joke which it is!

I would like your help as per ideas you collectively have as per what screens and services we could provide at our "Chiropractic Wellness Station?" Here are some of my ideas....please give me yours:

Two nice Zenth or similar hi-low tables at our station. Doctors could all pitch in to have a local moving company pick and deliver this table to the event and pick them up afterwords. This rather than lesser appearing portable tables.

Portable "bone mineral density testing unit" the arm, ankle, or possibly even the index finger units.

On the spot checks "finger prick" for sugar and cholesterol and/or any other blood checks we could do that give instant results.

"Live Cell Analysis" unit fully explaining to the attendee/consumer/Joe Public that a accurate diagnosis cannot be determined by this testing alone but may reveal that further lab tests are needed. This is very visual and as such people love it but we must be accurate in what we tell them.

Computarized lung spirometery for lung function which is the single best determinate of motality.

Quick Computerized blood pressure checks or do you think manual would look better or possibly both?

X-ray view box to review films if a consumer/Joe Public brings them to the event.

Educational materials relative to what chiropractic is and is not, a educational DVD in a loop system that plays continuously.

Educational materials on Workers' Comp they can see the doctor of their choice.....

Scoliosis checks with an exam sheet probably couple it with a stardard chiropractic spinal exam form....

What about one of those computerized foot units for weight distrubtion that Foot Levelers" has doctors use to determine the need and type of orthonic needed?

What ideas do you colleagues have and does any one have one of the bone mineral density units or Foot Levelers units??

thanks as always for your help,

Vern SAboe
