Guest guest
HI Gill It has surprised me but so interesting and as we debate it more and more seems to come out about what is happening – I feel there is a real need for Hv and SAN and those that lead and manage them and with the knowledge to be strong at present. Let’s see where we go from here Margaret From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Gill Newell Sent: 26 July 2007 09:37 Subject: FW: Digest Number 2053 -----Original Message----- From: Gill Newell [mailto:gill.newelldsl (DOT) pipex.com] Sent: 25 July 2007 17:28 'No Reply' Subject: RE: Digest Number 2053 Dear Margaret You have started a fascinating discussion! One other ingredient to put into the melting pot is the annual report of the Chief Medical Officer, who states that public health funding cannot continue to be raided. One of the (many) reasons why in Gloucestershire we haven’t got the sort of school nursing service advocated in Choosing Health is that last year we didn’t get our hands on any of the Choosing Health funding, and this year we’ve only managed a small proportion. We must link the need for more investment in public health to the need for an effective public health nursing service - this will be a tough battle for commissioners of children’s and maternity services. Best wishes Gill
