Guest guest
Hi everyone, yesterday I came back from hospital. As most of you know I had a surgery on both feet (achilles-tendon-lengthening and tibialis-posterior-tendon transfer). I was very afraid of the surgery but everything went well. I now have 5 scars on both feet. The pain after the surgery is not so bad, you have pain but the medicine worked and still works very well. After two days in bed I tried to stand on my feet but I hadn't the strenght in my legs. The third day it was a bit better and the fourth day I started walking with crutches. Now I am able walking without them but I need somebody/something next to me to keep me. I have problems with my balance because I have lost it. The doctor said it can take 8 weeks to get the balance back. A little success is that I can lift my feet a few cm. The tibialis posterior does not work right yet, this also can take 3 to 6 weeks. As the doctors said it will take 6 months to walk and stand more secure on my feet. Bye,
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm not sure who all on here remembers, me, but I'm Custer from Virginia. I was on the post-op list since back the first of the year. I got approval with Dr. R back in March and was scheduled on April 16th, but you all know what happened at the end of March. I have been waiting all that time, until this past Thursday, Dec 20th when I finally had my MGB with Dr. R in Statesville, NC. I am doing extremely well, my surgery lasted only 36 minutes and I am in absolutely NO PAIN. I feel great....except for one small problem that started late last night, which is diarrhea. Have any of you had this problem during the first few days post-op? Dr. R bypassed 8 feet for me, since I have a LOT to lose, and would like to know if this is one contributing factor to the diarrhea? My stomach (or intestines) just grumble and rumble all the time! No pain, though! I am taking my carafate and citrucel. I'm being very religious about the supplements and all that. I'm still on broth, yogurt and gatorade. Any suggestions, anyone? I sure would appreciate it! Re: Back from Hospital >, so happy that your surgery went well and you're home from the >hospital... Guest guest
, Of course we remember you! Congrats on finally making it to the other side! Other than keeping on the citracel and calling the Dr. and asking for advice, I don't have any advice to help you. 8 ft huh? Wowee...I asked Dr. Q to do that for me and he wouldn't...so you are a lucky girl! Hope all clears up soon and you can enjoy your new life without rumbles and grumbles! Guest guest
, So glad you're out of the hospital and everything went well. Even more so, you don't have to spend Christmas in the hospital. Happy Holidays, Bern > Well, had emergency surgery Friday on my hernia.
