Guest guest
Hi All; I also am new to this area and am very excited to learn more about perfumery. I think it is a fascinating subject because of my background in botany and nature. I have traveled to a lot of different places in the world Latin America, Africa, Armenia, Europe; and in all the places I usually find myself smelling something wonderful and different. The lavendar of croatia, ylang-ylang in Costa Rica and vanilla in other places, all seem to make me realize that how we smell is, in large part, how we experience the world. I am looking to start out slow and then maybe build a business out of this in North Carolina. Being a botanist the first thing I wanted to learn how to do is how to steam distill flowers and create essences and oils. If anyone has any suggestions on what books are best for beginners to read I would love to hear them. Thanks, I am amazed by the depth of knowledge in this group. Sincerely Rob Crook
