Hi le

Yes, sorry, that is a typo.

It should be 3 min hot, 1 min cold – that

is what I have used.  Maybe 30 sec cold may be even better in Raynaud’s.

Laureen:: Improving Circulation

Hi Laureen,

I always have used 3 minutes hot and

30 seconds cold in contrast hydro - with great results; was your recommendation

of 1 min hot 3 min cold a typo? using cold for that long with Reynaulds would

seem to aggravate the condition.

RE:

A: Improving Circulation

Hi

Things

that I have tried with patients that have been successful are:

-

warming socks on the hands at night, use socks, not gloves

-

alternating hot (1min) and cold (3min) to hands, repeat 3 times, do nightly

(they can do it while they watch tv)

-

tincture of cayenne (only about 10mL in 100), with ginkgo - improves peripheral

circulation, black cohosh - good antispasmodic for blood vessels and maybe a

nervine if there is a stress component (seems like there always is with

Raynaud's).

- B3

will increase vasodilation

-

Magnesium will reduce blood vessel spasm

-

vitamin C improves blood vessel integrity

All

these things are acute, but very helpful while you work on the underlying

problems. With the tincture, most patients notice an improvement within a

week.
