Guest guest
Elvira, I agree with the dilution souloution. I wouldn't worry about making things worse. If you can't tolorate the air condition you just have to do what ever you can to get reliefe. Try to find another place live if that's possible. Maybe you could buy a small wall unit (ac) and put it in your bedroom window. Don't run the complexes ac just yours. I got one for my trailer, $78 at biglots for a 8000 btu unit with a remote. Don't know how they do it.
Guest guest
How about a window fan with a HEPA filtration unit in the room? Air conditioners (and especially, the electricity they use) are expensive and they often breed mold inside them, which is the last thing she needs. If you are living in a moldy space and can't control the air, best to block off the complex air and use HEPA filtration in your personal space with outside air. A good HEPA air filter like the Whirlpool Whispure AP450 can clean the air in one large room to an acceptable level and that will create a safe space of sorts for you. The cost is around $250, then an additional $110 every six months or so for new filter and prefilter.. (the prefilter is washable, you def. want to clean it every week or so, they get really dirty..Use gloves when you wash the prefilter..and just plain water - no soap and be gentle- thats important!) If you can't afford a HEPA unit, get a 20 " box fan and 20 " 3m Filtrete max allergen filters (the $15+ - expensive ones) and duct tape the filter to the intake side of the fan facing in the right direction so that the airflow goes through the filter. This should last quite a while and although its not as efficient at removing mold particles from the air as a HEPA filter, it does help a lot, esp. as it filters the air over and over.. I got this idea from Dr. Schaller.. on this list -its a life saver... and affordable..
