Hi Lyndon,

Thank you for your interest and for reading this. And if you so choose, thank you in advance for forwarding this to your friends.

It’s not all about “stopping evil politicians or evil parties.” Most of the people who run for office do so because they want to do some good – they want to make a difference. However, in the course of running for and then getting into office, many of these decent folks lose their way.

Honor In Office was formed to help decent politicians find their way back. It was formed to help them defend themselves from the unscrupulous. It was also formed to help make our leaders accountable to us – to get them to honestly represent us, not vested interests.

It is impossible for our politicians to fully and honestly represent us if they are not reading the laws they are passing, if they are illegally trading votes and if they are allowing their votes to be improperly influenced.

Common sense laws don’t stand a chance if our elected officials aren’t reading and thoroughly researching the bills they are passing.

A measure has been written to address this problem in California and it can be seen here: http://www.honorinoffice.org/measure.php

This is becoming a nationwide movement!

Your friends from Florida have already jumped on board to see that the decent legislators have a way to protect themselves and thus do a better overall job for their states and you.

Sincerely,

Jerrol

---------------

Having assisted in a number of political campaigns on both sides of the party line, Kay Labrie has come to the conclusion that our politicians need some help. The honest ones need a fighting chance.

Kay is therefore establishing the Florida chapter of Honor In Office to get similar legislation passed in her state.

Welcome! We applaud your enthusiasm!

6. Daily Catholic’s McCain:

Our Treasured Turf of Freedom

---------------

Through a fast-growing grassroots movement, called the Honor In Office Act, we can turn a stifled garden into goodness for and by the people by weeding out dishonest politicians and special interest groups whose shell games, sneak attacks and hidden agendas have slithered through and become law, many times unjust ones at that, without our….

Average Citizen Critical but not Critical Thinker

---------------

The other day I got an e-mail from my friend Jerrol LeBaron in California. He told me he is trying to get a movement going in that state that would require integrity of its legislators. It seems he's deeply concerned that good laws don't have a chance of passing because none of California's legislators reads them. They're guilty, he says, of something he calls "political malpractice." Sound familiar?

They're too busy….

8. Bilingual Weekly’s Benigno:

Knowing What They are Reading

---------------

It has come to my attention from talking to many of my supporters that they have had it with our California government. Enough is enough about what our elected officials are doing while in office. One of the biggest concerns was that not enough time was being spent reading the bills that are being presented before the legislature.

The cause and effect of problems arising in state government is from slackers ....

9. Red Bluff Daily News’ Pete Stiglich:

I Daresay – One Can Only Hope and Persevere

---------------

As this year's Memorial Day observances drew to a close, I tried to recall other groups or individuals that have earned similar respect and honor, albeit perhaps without necessarily being designated a federal holiday. Police officers, firemen and teachers quickly came to mind. Notable civil rights and religious leaders as well.

There are others, I am sure.

But, conspicuously absent from my list, anyway, seemed to be America's elected leaders....

The Honor in Office committee is doing very important work for California and, ultimately, for the entire nation. We entrust our elected officials to cast informed votes on our behalf. Asking for accountability in this process makes absolute sense!

I was just thinking that there is another side to Honor In Office. It is making sure things not only start correctly with practice, process and implementation, but to reduce the after effects of side stepping the true purpose of public office, which is serving the community and not serving themselves.

There are so many times people find out about a situation that occurred in public office and it affects many in a city, county or state. We find out that some public official has misappropriated monies or made deals with someone for an office appointment, or some other inappropriate unprofessional behavior.

It’s because of this that Honor In Office and your initiative are so necessary
