Both sides agreed to a $650,000 settlement payout. Chavez Elementary School opened in 2001, but closed two months later because mold was apparently found in a majority of classrooms, WISC- TV reported. Thirty-five teachers and students brought the suit against Westra Construction claiming that the company failed to remove excess moisture when the school was built. The moisture allegedly caused mold and respiratory problems for people in the school.
Guest guest
How many students went to this school? The best recent research indicates that the larger the number of people exposed to biotoxins in a moldy building or other unhealthy mold environment, the closer the number of people with symptoms is to 24%, the percentage of people who have HLA-DR genotypes that indicate their bodies metabolize biotoxins more slowly. This percentage is the same for people of different races, sexes and ancestries. It doesn't change very much. So, perhaps this was a very small school? Or I have to wonder if some people were intimidated into not being open about their symptoms?
