Guest guest
I was reading through the database for this group and noticed that someone was looking for tomato leaf. That's probably from a long time ago but I'm ordering tomato leaf absolute from New Directions (newdirectionsaromatics.com) in case you are still looking. Also, thanks to all the people who responded to my questions about this company!

I don't know about their processes, but they also remove the toxic alkaloids in tomato leaf (one of the nightshades) during processing. I guess that the toxic componants of these plants are alcohol-soluble. Alas, that's why tincturing them can be dangerous. It's also interesting to note that castor beans are poisonous, but the oil derived from them isn't. The toxic components must not be oil-soluble. Anyway, hope this helps. I had a very bad experience with her last year. I ordered 5 pounds of dried Orange blossoms from her and she never shipped them to me. Months of emailing and excuses went on between me and her and she basically gave me the run around the whole time. I don't think she ever even had Orange Blossoms in stock for sale to begin with. I highly suspect she is having financial difficulties. In the end, I had to contact my credit card company and go through the charge back process which entailed a lot more of my time and energy. Therefore, I hope you and other list members think carefully before doing business with her. Mark Renaissance Aromas, Inc.

I will NEVER do business with Well, Naturally again. I went through exactly the same ordeal with her last summer. Email after email for 6 WEEKS with no response from her! I called her in the middle of this and got " That's been shipped. I will send you a tracking number right away, " then a hurried " sorry and goodbye " *CLICK* Never saw a package or heard anything from her again. Two weeks later I called my credit card and had them reverse the charges. After years of working in customer service and running my own business I have learned this: I don't care what kind of hot water you're in, you DON'T treat your customers like that (unless you want your business to fail miserably). I would have been fine waiting a little bit longer for the items I ordered if I had had some explanation. As far as I can tell, the woman is running a scam. Charging my card and then blatantly lying to me about shipment on my package. Even if you're having a hard time, that's totally unethical. I would advise everyone to order from a reputable supplier -- and steer clear of Well, Naturally. Ok, I'm through with my rant. Thanks for listening! I think she is based in Canada, and I live in Michigan. We have a BBB to report to but I don't know about the great white north. I normally don't report things like this to the authorities anyway (more like, I always mean to but never get around to it). The universe will kick you in the ass if you're screwing up. She will hopefully get the message anyway when she loses her customers -- and when we have conversations like these that prevent her from gaining new ones. By the way, I think I sounded more vicious than I meant to in my post about her. I'm sure she's not a terrible person, but you're right... she can't continue this nonsense. Has anyone else had any experience with her, positive or negative? Rose

One thing I am glad: you got your money back on your credit card ) Yes, I agree, this " smells " fishy...
