Guest guest
,As far as I know there is no hard and fast rule. Based on the variance and reactivity over time as well as the pharmakodymamics of steroidal inhalants, I would reduce to 1 puff bid X 30 days; if she has not seen any regression, go to 1 puff qd (morning) for an additional 14-20 days. Then eliminate. This has worked for a few of my patients. Hope this helps.I would recommend, in addition to the drainage work, supporting the tissue with additional selenium, NAC, and mucolyxir if mucous congestion is a problem as it is with many asthmatics.Cory Tichauer, ND"C. As she tapered down, he had her take 5mg of DHEA every twelve hours for the first four days. If there was no improvement or slight improvement after four days increase the DHEA to 10mg/day. The dose can be increased in intervals of 5mg as you taper (I think...this is where my notes become unclear) not to exceed 25 mg, and not long term. Warn them of the symptoms of too much DHEA (breast tenderness, acne, new hair growth). He also recommended anti-inflammatories specific for the tissue involved. I think Viburnum and Ribes gemmos would be good considerations as well as surreninum 4CH. We've been doing drainage and acupuncture and she's feeling great and would like to start tapering off the steroid (She also has Albuterol PRN). Her MD refuses to talk to her about this, saying she needs to be on the steroid forever. My patient has told her that she won't do that and would like to know how to get off it but is getting nowhere. I've looked in several sources, and can't find an actual protocol on how to do the taper, just that it should be tapered. Does anyone have any experience or a resource that may answer my question? Guest guest
Also consider lots of Ribes and/or Licorice solid extract for the adrenal support. Guest guest
Mucolyxir is micro-dosed DNA (salmon). I believe it was first tested for cystic fibrosis with great results; however, due to its unpatentability it was never pursued by the parmaceutical nation. Allergy Research carries it now. There was a good section in a recent (last 6 mos) Townsend Letter featuring the empirical results from using this product. I have been impressed with it myself.Cory Tichauer, NDmedford, ORKim Saxe <drkimsaxe@...> wrote: Cory, What is Mucolyxir? I'm not familiar with it.
