Ruth,

That sounds like one of the recipes in that big fat In2nutrition

recipe file I posted a while back. You can try to use these amounts

for something more balanced for BFL. Cut out the safflower oil if you

want to reduce the fat and cut calories by around 30.

Blueberry Cottage Cheese

Ingredients

• 11 Tbls cottage cheese, low-fat (this is a bit under 3/4 c. of CC)

• 3 Tbls oatmeal, uncooked

• ¾ tsp oil, safflower

• ½ cup blueberries

Spices / Flavoring

• ½ tsp almond extract

Preparation:

Wash and drain blueberries.

Mix ingredients

Serve immediately or chilled

3 sat fat

4 fiber

11 sugar

A Cottage Cheese Treat Question

Hi guys,

I just discovered a VERY yummy treat and now I'm thinking there are

too many carbs. Here's what it is.

1 Cup Fat Free Cottage Cheese

1/2 Cup Blueberries

A few Almonds

1/2 Cup Quaker Oats

4 packets of splenda

I'm thinking I need to cut out the blueberries or oats. What do you

guys think?

Sub-question: I've read that you should use " steel cut oats. " I did

not see anything that specifically said " Steel cut " I just got the

Quaker Oats in the card board container that says 100% whole grain.

I assume that's okay. Just wanted to ask to be sure, I've never been

an oatmeal eater.

I make the same meal. But I use about 1/3 cup of oatmeal and about

1/4 cup of blueberries. It just about evens the carbs out.

Hi Sherry,

I'll post it to the group files at lunch, but it's also posted to my

web site at:

http://maggiewang.com/bfl/In2Nutrition_Recipes_PDF_All.pdf

There are 175 BFL-friendly recipes in there with full nutrition information.
