Thanks, Sherry! I sure will. :)

And I think that everyone on this board that is doing their best to

follow BFL should give themselves a pat on the back for rising above

the common herd. From what I observed today, women who eat right and

work out are few and far between in any age group, and it really shows

after they hit their mid-twenties. I give major props to every woman

here who made the conscious decision to improve her health, get

active, and of course, defy the common fallacy that we are all doomed

to a frumpy, matronly figure after age 25!

Maggie,

That is so amazing! What awesome progress!!! I can only imagine how

proud of yourself you must be.

I'm currently a 10/12 and fighting to get back to my pre-pregnancy

size of an 8. I can't even fathom getting down much lower than that,

but I'm certainly going to try! I've been perusing back through your

past posts looking at your shopping lists and recipes and such. Such

inspiration!!!!

Thank you!

Ooooh, that sounds like such a fun day. :) Well done! I wonder how

USA sizes compare to what we have here in NZ. I've heard that you

are one size larger (ie. I wear a 12 here, so I'd be in a 10 in the

US), BUT, our shops only go down to a size 8. Except for the

occasional trendy Asian fashion store that has 6's. I've never seen

a 4 or a 2 or (heaven forbid) a 0. I can't even imagine anyone being

that small.

Oh, and on the comment about too-tight low rise jeans. If you have

any bodyfat, low risers slide down until they dig in. It sucks. I

just bought a pair of size 12's, which fit perfectly when I tried

them on, but as I wear them during the day, they do the " slide and

dig " , creating gross bulges. REALLY looking forward to the day when

there ain't nothin' to dig into! Sticking to looser fitting tops

over them until then!

Of course, being in the " not there yet " category, I do have to put in

a quiet and plaintive comment that, if you saw me in that mall, I

would be one of those 'average to overweight' women you saw... at the

moment. But I'm trying!!! :)

Congrats again on achieving size 4 and the joy of shameless

shopping!!! :) hehe

Jackie--10/12 isn't very far away from 8 at all, and who knows? With

the quirky way that BFL combines fat loss with muscle toning, you

might be a 6 before you even realize it. :)

Phoenix-- I wouldn't be surprised if US sizes are one increment larger

than those in the rest of the world. Americans like to super-size

their portions to the detriment of their waistlines, but as we all

know, women hate to admit that they've gotten bigger, so U.S. clothing

lines try to soften the blow by labeling a pattern size 12 as an 8 or

even a 6! In true pattern sizing, I am somewhere between a 10 and a

12, which puts me into size 6 here.

As far as my comments on low-rise hip-huggers go, I do realize that

they have a tendency to slip during the day. Anyone with an apple

shape is basically screwed when it comes to wearing them, though, and

should realize it. ;) The girls I saw were beyond a bit of jeans

slippage--I've been sewing for ages and can recognize a bad fit when I

see it--there were way too many potbellies and rolls several inches

above the top of the pants for it to be just a matter of local

compression, LOL. Hiphuggers only work on two figure

types--completely twiggy boy figures with no body fat, or a toned,

slightly more hourglass shape with little body fat in the hipbone

area.

And you have a huge advantage over the girls I was talking about--YOU

are actively making an effort to become fit! Those girls at the mall,

however, are heading into a very unfortunate future of inexorably

increasing pounds and girth, and I doubt that most of them will notice

until it's almost too late.

Seattle--LOL! I fully admit that I have several pairs of the dreaded

low-rise jeans and pants, but none of them are extreme. I like'em

resting a bit above my hip bones where I don't have any of the

dreaded, compressible body fat that goes lumpy when squashed. I also

don't buy stuff that I need a crowbar to get into. The super-tight,

super low-rise pants have got to go soon; younger American women (and

some older ones, too) just don't have enough common sense to handle

them with taste and class.
