Guest guest
I have been trying to decide if I want to invest in the Level 1 perfume workbook that Mandy Aftel sells on her site. In her description, it sounds like a book for true beginners who have little or no experience blending essential oils and who are not familiar with individual oils. I am not sure if the information offered would be new to me or not. I already have a pretty good knowledge base on these types of things but there is always more to learn so I'm not sure! Can anyone give me a more detailed description of the workbook? I would very much appreciate it! Thanks so much!

I came from an aromatherapy background and was familiar with many oils and blending for therapeutic purposes. I loved Mandy's workbook and felt that I began to think as a perfumer. I also know others who have had quite a bit of experience with blending natural perfumes who nevertheless felt that they had gained new knowledge from the workbook. You receive a basic kit of oils with the workbook and you have in addition to the " book learning " , quided prectical assignments. If you also have your own oils you will be able to use them too. There are plenty of additional pages to work through and record your own blends. The basics are all there; the process of organoleptic testing; creating top, middle, and base chords; blending horizontal and vertical chords; looking at accessory notes; looking at problems and faults. The workbook is clear and fun to read. I went on and applied for Mandy's Level II course and just finished it. That was very terrific and one of the most valuable experiences that I could have had. Good luck and I hope this information helps. Chris
