OK, this is a LOT to read, but in essence Sharon Kramer, who is

awesome, is trying to get a very biased research paper retracted that

is preventing doctors from around the country from hearing the truth

about mold, and therefore preventing them from learning how to

properly treat us.

We'd appreciate if you took five minutes to send an email to

MDAwareness@...

with the following:

Name

Address

Phone

Two sentences or less about why you're writing, such as

" I have been effected by mold " or

" I know someone affected by mold " or how 'bout

" Shoddy research should be challenged "

If you are a physician or other health professional and are willing to

include that information, do so and send the email to MDResearch@...

And send this on to anyone in your address book you think would be

willing to participate.

My sincere gratitude.

Subject:

PLEASE HELP US TO HAVE THE AAAAI MOLD STATEMENT RETRACTED

From:

SNK1955@...

Date: Tue, 11 Apr 2006 01:01:51 EDT

April 10, 2006

Dear Concerned Party,

In February, 2006, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and

Immunology (AAAAI) released a new Position Statement. The Position is

purported to represent a collective Policy of their 7000 physician

members' " state of the art " understanding of mold and related toxin

induced illnesses. AAAAI has received numerous letters of complaint

from physicians and researchers regarding the Position Statement.

Primarily, the complaints pertain to the extremely narrow choice of

" state of the art " references in support of the Position and the

undisclosed conflicted interests of the authors.

Dr. Leung, Editor for the Journal of Allergy and Clinical

Immunology (JACI) – the official publication of the AAAAI, has

graciously indicated the JACI will be featuring these numerous letters

on the website of the JACI. Dr. Leung would also like to publish

information in a monthly edition of the Journal. This is to be mailed

to the members for their perusal. As space is limited, only three

letters on the subject will be published in hard copy. The current

understanding is that the 3 letters to be published will be:

a. One, drafted by Neurotoxicologist, Dr. Hudnell. It is

to be from

Physicians/Researchers/IAQ Professionals/Non-profit

Organizations (see email attachment);

b. A second is to be from Individuals and Legal Professionals

concerned for those made ill from mold exposure (see email attachment);

c. And a third, which is a Rostrum letter written by Dr. Jay

Portnoy. Dr. Portnoy has requested he no longer be listed as an author

on the Position Statement.

This inaccurate document cannot stand as a Position Statement of

an influential medical association. If allowed to stand, it will only

serve to further the contention and confusion over the mold issue –

causing the issue to continue to clog our courts and leaving thousands

unable to receive proper medical treatment.

Please help!

If you want to help us make a difference by broadening

science-based understanding of mold illness, please read the following

two letters and add your name as another voice to be heard. All

signatures need to be received no later than April 25, 2006. We

realize in order for some to be able to sign, their names must be

viewed as merely one voice among many. For that reason, without a

minimum of 100 signatures on each of the two letters, the letters will

not be forwarded to the AAAAI. The names of those who demonstrated a

willingness to help will then be kept confidential. There are

directions of how to sign at the end of each letter.

Together, we CAN make a difference!

For Physicians/Researchers/IAQ Pros/Non-Profits, register your support

by sending an email to MDResearch@...

For Legal Professionals and Individuals, register your support by

sending an email to MDAwareness@....

Please forward this letter on to others for signatures.
