Guest guest
Aloha I have a specifiic image from California of my stepsisters old style ranch house and outside she had a hedge of geranium ...... it was amazing! I had never seen a geranium hedge before....the butterflies absolutely loved them.... I would sit on the steps happily watching in the heat of the californian sun...... also happy memories of collecting black walnuts. Aren't there two different species tho? Two genera. Pelargonium which are the familiar house and bedding plants and then the Geranium often called cranesbill..... The essential oil I like is the bourban variety...... Essentially oils in Chipping norton have always done a particularly lovely one and I stick with them for that..... Some, egyptian ones and other I must confess make me feel a little sicky and queasy.... The welsh longhouse traditionally have beautiful red geraniums etc all round the windows and doors..... and the plants are well loved here too....economic, great leaf scent etc.... I don't know whether to mention the new direction company again (grin) but they do stock a geranium leaf absolute from the graveolen variety which I purchased and havn't used yet but all this talk makes me want to experiment...... Speaking of oils...... you may have seen my posting a week or so back about a top note accord I had been making which included Rosewood. I am very aware of the fragility of this oil and trees........ when I first started the perfumery I sourced many oils and this was include in my sources...... later I discovered the eco delicate nature.... Just to put the record straight..... to throw this oil away when this tree has already been sacrificed, for me, is wrong...... I bring it out when I have special custormers amongst other oils..... this person just loved it......so I am happy to use the very small stock I have until used up...... then it shall have to be a Ho wood or leaf variety for me. Also NPrs I have notice a huge price difference with the eco managed Australian sandalwoods on offer...shop wisesly I say pelargoniumly/geraniumly yours Janita.... --------------------------------- All new " The new Interface is stunning in its simplicity and ease of use.
