Guest guest
Anything canned has sodium in it for preserving it - so try for fresh whenever you're able to have it. Salmon is very good for you - but at 12 grams of protein per 1/4 cup you can up that to 1/2 cup as you most likely should be aiming for 20-25 grams of protein per minimeal. <<joni>> *Lift well, Eat less, Walk fast, Live long*
Guest guest
How much sodium per serving is too much? I'm on the go a lot and eat a lot of prepackaged items. So hard to cook from scratch during the week. > Anything canned has sodium in it for preserving it - so try for > fresh whenever you're able to have it. Guest guest
I haven't read all the posts about this subject so forgive me if I duplicate something. Now you can get the salmon in the pouches just like the tuna. I didn't notice the sodium though. It sort of tastes like the tuna a little too. I got a few pouches the other day for 96 cents at Walmart. The canned stuff has the little chewable bones that are good for you though. Guest guest
On a daily level 2400 mg's per day was the maximum recommeded amopunt of sodium but newer studies are suggesting we lower it to 1500 mg's a day - this is a good article about sodiu, how much, etc and what foods contain the most: http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/foodnut/09354.html <<joni>> *Lift well, Eat less, Walk fast, Live long*
