Guest guest
Hi Lori, Our basement dehumidifier is from Sears and we can move it around easily if needed. It's large and very heavy but on wheels. Over the yrs. we have owned two and both were purchased from Sears. They should have different sizes maybe you could give them a call before running all over the place. Sue I recently decided that I need a dehumidifier; I think my apartment was built over a river of water and ants ( almost grinning). With all the rain I have discovered that some items are beginning to be moldy... out in the garbage they go or wiped with vinegar and into the freezer if I really need it. Can anyone suggest a low priced one that I could put in the center room and wheel it around if need be. We would be grateful for any suggestions. In some of the local stores many models are selling quickly ( wonder why) and I am still hobbling about since I broke my knee.

Guest guest
I have often wondered this too. In my case it appears as steaks where the water flows into the containment bin. We wash it out everytime we empty it. jill1313 <jenbooks13@...> wrote: I'm using a portable maytag dehumidifier. It really is not big enough for my livingroom and has to be emptied fairly often but I guess that shows its working. I went to empty it tonight, and there were grayish black sooty streaks especially in one of the compartments of the bin that holds the water. Would this be dirt, or could this possibly be mold, i.e. could the dehumidifier start growing mold because of standing water? Does anybody know? I don't have a lot of experience with dehumidifiers. I washed it out with softscrub/bleach. --------------------------------- Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs.Try it free.
