Guest guest
In Enfield we have a LAC nurse specialist who is a HV. She works closely with SS, was originally funded by them, but now by our PCT. It has been a struggle for her but after a year in post seems to be getting her teeth into it. Her name is Bowman. e-mail denise.bowman@... Kathy Soderquist
Guest guest
some work was undertaken around LAC by the old health authority - it was something like a two year project but I am not sure what happened from it. Your PCT lead for children or maybe she is Rushmoor and harts was involved. Guest guest
Hi , i work P/T as a Designated Nurse for LAC for Suffolk where we have a team of LAC Nurse Specialists. We have a formal multi agency partnership arrangement between Suffolk county council and the 5 PCT's in Suffolk and launched our service in March 04. We work very closely with our HV and SN colleagues (could not cope with the workload without them) with the LAC Nurses working more to provide a service for the older children and those excluded from school. Although experiencing some glitches as with all multi agency working we are receiving some positive evaluations from the fostercarers, children and young people and i believe they are really benefiting from the service. If you would like more info then give me a ring or e mail me on helen.wallace @lhp.nhs.uk RE: child protection LAC Within our PCT we have a named nurse for child protection but no provision for looked after children (LAC). Guest guest
, Islington have recently appointed 2 HVs for LAC. One for the under-fives and the other for older children. As they are new posts I'm not sure how they work. I think Barnet also appointed an HV for LAC a couple of years ago. June
