Guest guest
Hi Jackie, I cant tell you if it causes stones, but I had these severe infections with my exposure. test came back negitive on bladder and kidney infections, but I had all the symptoms. the infection in my back was so bad that I couldn't bend or hardly walk it was mostly in my lower back and my kidneys fell like they have had damage. the two glands in my lower back would often swell up and my whole back was stiff and hot and it would go down my legs and up my back and into my arms.this was described at one point as mechanical back pain, EMTs(where they poke your muscles with a neddle and mesure responce) showed extreme pain with just trying to do this. at one point I was given steroid shots.only had one and it made me very ill. was supposed to get 3, but because just sticking the neddle in my lower back caused so much pain, the doctor refused to finish. he said he had never had that happen before. slowly after getting out, this has gotten better but can be instantly be reacted by anything aggervateing these glands in my lower back or and other glands.this was thought to be fibromyalgia by one doctor but test came back negitive. sinus infections bring this condition back if it gets out of control. also if I get a cold or flu. but when I think about what exposure puts your kidneys and bladder through, I'd say about anything is possible. the infections in this part of my body lead to a hisderictomy.so I know theres is damage to my other organs. and my stomach and colon suffered to. basicly, all my organs suffered, but I still dont know if any test will show this. I cant afford to get to a expert either, and my family doctor had a conflict of interest when it came to helping me so I basically was left to try and figure out what was happening to me and didnt know enough at the time to of experts to go to. I may be wrong but I've read that a CT scan, and MRI might show some damage that has accured to the organs. I cant even find a doctor that will take me on as a patient. I thought about not bringing up the mold exposure, but I've allready been through to many misdignoses and given to many med's that I had a bad reaction to. just cant deal with another doctor treating me like Im crazy and putting me through that again. wish you the best on your exam. take care. --- In , " jackiebreeze " <jackiebreeze@...> wrote: > > Hi, > I know this might be a dumb question but I am blond so it probably is > dumb. Guest guest
There are a number of serious kidney (and liver) diseases that may be caused by mold/mycotoxin exposure, like PKD. They can be life-threatening. You need to see a ***mold-aware*** doctor. Regardless of whether you have insurance or not.
Guest guest
speaking for myself, there is nothing I'd like to do more, however I cant get half way across the state to see Dr. Shoemaker. its great that he now has the spectorscope and can test the damage to the brain, I;d have to still get with someone that could deturmine the effect this has had on the rest of my organs. without haveing a doctor to write prescriptions to have CT's, MRI's, and SPECT scans done(which would possibly show another misdignoses of MS) how am I supposed to get this done. I thought of going and checking myself into the hospital and no dought would be suffering a MCS attack by the time I got there, but doctors are not going to just do the test I ask them to do and if I bring up the mold exposure, they will just treat me like a nut. and I have medicad and medicare, because I was put on disability for post stress syndrome while in the moldy home but it was not known at the time that this is what caused it. 12 years now of dealing with this has caused me to lose my career, sold all my antiques to servive, and I cant even afford tires for my car. its easy to say get to a specialest but a little harder to do when your broke. even at this point if I managed to find a doctor in my state, if he's very far away, I'd have a problem getting there, or going very often. Im tring to figure out a way to get CT's done and SPECT scan at a hospital close to me without haveing a doctor prescribe it. even if I go in when Im haveing multiple symptoms and very ill, they aren't going to listen to me and do the test I ask for. chances are, they are going to throw antibiotics at me, do a urine test or two and tell me they didn't find anything. and send me home. > > There are a number of serious kidney (and liver) diseases that may be > caused by mold/mycotoxin exposure, like PKD. Guest guest
I am very aware of this fact but without the money, I can't. For those of you with money to get treatment, this is easier said than can be done. --- In , LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: > > There are a number of serious kidney (and liver) diseases that may be > caused by mold/mycotoxin exposure, like PKD. Guest guest
HI I have been interviewing a couple of mold patients and I was surprised to find out that every one of them has got kidney stones? 10 people from 10 different homes. What type of mold did you have? In this 10 homes aspergillus was dominant. -mygla Iceland > > Hi, > I know this might be a dumb question but I am blond so it probably is > dumb. Guest guest
I have no idea what kind of mold it was. It was determined by an insurance adjuster (the insurance did not cover mold damage), a contractor and the city building inspector, that the house did have a mold problem. I was told practically the whole house needed to be ripped out. The odd thing, besides the black mold that would collect in the bathroom that I cleaned constantly, I saw no other mold until one day right out of our freshly painted wall a weird thing grew out. Later the building inspector said it was mushroom. The mold was pretty much hidden and grew in the walls and such. We had a 5 year drought, we moved in this house during a very dry spell. When the rain came a big pond formed under the house...this was discovered by a electrician who was going to do some work. I started having breating problems, developed sleep apea (I was thin then too) and I would sleep approx 19 hours a day. I started having tooth aches and many, many issues. I have not been well since...it never stops...so the answer to your question, I have no idea what kind of mold it was....I just know it was there. > > > > Hi, > > I know this might be a dumb question but I am blond so it probably > is > > dumb. Guest guest
Jackie, The same question has come up several times in discussion with other researchers, even though I can't give all the indepth details and the reasoning why, apparently there is some sort of a link. I had spoken to a physician last year that did ultra sounds and I had asked him several questions about fungal infections, swelling of the organs, etc., if he has or was able to observe any type abnormalities due to this type of infection. His answer was shocking, he said no, but he did not realize how serious kidney fungal infections were. Because he had just lost his dad to it. I gave him my card with several websites on it and ran into him a couple of hours later and he couldn't thank me enough. The shocking part was when he said we lose over 300 patients a year to this type of illness and a high percentage of the time, like his dad experienced was due to aspergillus fumigatus. It was definately an eye opener. But yet they continue to suppress the informaton. Who do they think they are fooling, us or themselves? Guest guest
Jackie, I am NOT saying that supplements of any kind will cure anything but my own recovery, in retrospect, has been helped by several nutritional supplements several of which you can - if you look around, find in bulk, so they can end up being very inexpensive. They are alpha-lipoic acid, n-acetyl cysteine, acytyl-l-carnitine and piracetam If you have kidney issues, you should ask a doctor about milk thistle extract, too. Hint, doctors may be avoiding having you as a patient because you seem dangerous to them. You need to be pro-active about your own recovery and don't expect others to do it for you. Once you get better, after a certain point, you will hopefully become more articulate at finding help and then, at that point, it may become less frustrating. You are not alone.. Reaching out (like you are doing here) is an important first step. Get medical help if you can, it sounds like you really do need it. Don't be afraid to give doctors information you have found. Get familiar with pubmed.gov and you will find a lot of stuff that may help you. Nobody is as motivated to solve YOUR medical issues as YOU are.. Guest guest
ok, now its my turn to ask a dumb question, and because I was never sick before this, I never felt the need to educate myself any of these illnesses. because I had some very painful episodes with the pain and dierrhia ,and kidney stone never even accured to me, but now Im realy wondering. and I used to be able to deal with a lot of pain. example: a cyropractor that documented the infection in my back and the effects of this when it first started happening, said he couldn't believe I was still trying to work with this condiction, as most people would not. it later caused me to get to that point. but Im just wondering now, if there is evidence left in your kidneys of previous stones that may of been passed and if so, what kind of test would show this? a CT scan? > > > > There are a number of serious kidney (and liver) diseases that may be > > caused by mold/mycotoxin exposure, like PKD. Also, there are many causes of pain, not just kidney stones. Rosie
Guest guest
thanks rosie, I just thought they might leave scaring. and yes, I think my kidney pain was mostly from not being able to rid the toxins while I was in the mold. and now both my bladder and kidneys just aren't up to par. dont know if any test would show anything, but wondering about fibrosis in several of my organs.sence tissues from my overies showed cystic and smooth muscle growth, Im thinking other organs were affected the same way. wondering about fibrosis. the problem I had with the extra pain and larger amounts of blood with the dieerhia, may of been some kind of blood pocket type thing from infection and the sore in my stomach. could have just had a hard subtance from food build up around this sore/cist thing and I never really was told what it actually was. report is vage to, but he said it was like a grorder. ?? > > >>>On Behalf Of who > but Im > just wondering now, if there is evidence left in your kidneys of > previous stones that may of been passed and if so, what kind of test > would show this? a CT scan? >> > No, once the stone(s) passed you would not be able to see evidence of them > unless you still have some. Guest guest
HI Jackie--all I can say is that I also have that HORRID back pain from time to time, & the pain intermittently goes up my shoulder blades (scapulas). My docs have found NOTHING wrong, except a bladder infection......yet the pain persists, after antibiotics. KC on here suggested I try milk thistle, which I did..... & now the pain is GONE. Anytime I start in with the pain again, I take the milk thistle, & don't have a big episode at all..... Hope that helps....
