Agonizing about MRI, gadolinium, HBOT

I'm agonizing over whether to have an MRI with

gadolinium contrast agent (brand name: Magnevist).

Gadolinium is an element-- #64 on the periodic table.

I'm interested in hearing about the effects of MRI's

on people with MCS (and healthy people) and the

effects of gadolinium on people with MCS (and healthy

people).

If you had an MRI, I'd love to hear your experiences.

I'm especially concerned about increased electrical

sensitivity after an MRI but maybe there are other

problems I should be more concerned about.

I haven't found any research on this but I'd be

interested in that, too if anyone knows of any.

Also, I was planning to start hyperbaric oxygen soon

(for insurance coverage about to be cut off reasons,

otherwise I would wait)... the gadolinium patient

information insert claims that 83% plus or minus 14%

of the gadolinium is excreted within 6 hours; 91% plus

or minus 13% is excreted within 24 hours. If I have

20-30% of the 40ml dose in my body and do HBOT... will

HBOT help me get the gadolinium out of my body or will

HBOT enable the gadolinium to go places it otherwise

wouldn't have been able to go and get stuck there?

I've read different things about gadolinium-- that it

isn't radioactive and that it is. The radiologist who

would perform the test said it was excreted by the

liver and safe for people with kidney failure. The

patient information insert his staff sent me said it

was excreted by the kidneys. I don't have kidney

failure but I do doubt the doctor knows much about the

risks of this drug. He had no idea about the effects

on a chemically sensitive person.

I'd be grateful for any information anyone has.
