This isn't technically my case, b/c it happened before I even came on the scene. But it is clinically worthy, I think: I am co-managing a pt w/ another ND on this group who had infectious mono dx in 2003, lasting 1mo, tx w/ antibiotics. In 2005 (prior to when I saw her) she had gone on a practically vegan / raw food diet for other health reasons. She had what both the other doc & I think was a healing reaction - pharyngitis & extreme fatigue for 2wks. Monospot at that time was neg. Tx for the healig reaction was supportive: socks, nutrients, western herbs, Hp. The pt recovered from the acute reaction and currently has a fairly good E level. It's not 100%, but she has other stuff going on too. Anyway it looks like the pt brought about the healing reaction by her diet change. I told her that a lot obviously depends on the individual, but I couldn't give her any specific information, having never personally treated anyone with this condition. Does anyone out in UNDA land have any experience they'd like to share so I can give her some case report results? Thanks- Hindman, ND, LAc Portland, OR
