Guest guest
Hi Jieyi I think it is very risky to try to regulate hormones with a woman on birth control pills. Your treatment could (is designed to) stimulate normal hormone production and with that comes ovulation. I think that could potentially override the effect of the BCP which is trying to suppress ovulation. I think the organotherapy is most likely to do this, but anything that is used to regulate hormones could have this effect. Is she willing to come off the pill? If so, that is the best way to start to regulate her hormones and get rid of the hormone related problems. If she had those problems before, and is on the pill to manage menstrual migraines or PMS, then you can work on all the other systems (liver, GI, diet, etc) for a month or 2 first, then the transition off the pill should be fairly smooth. In the mean time, since you can’t be sure of what affect your treatment may be having, I think you should recommend another form of birth control. (Plus this will give her a chance to try out an alternative to the pill if the primary purpose is birth control.) Loreen Dawson, ND Sechelt, BC Family Medicine Q: UNDA #s antidose birth control pill Hi, Group: I have treated a patient with PMS and menstrual related migraines with UNDA #s, seeds rotations, and luteinum and folliculimun 200k in day 8 and day 22 to regulate the hormone in the past 2-3 weeks. I received phone call today, and she stopped the UNDA #s. She has been on birth control pills, however her mense came before the scheduled time. She hasn't experienced such time before, and she thinks UNDA #s may cause the early onset. I wonder if anybody has experience with such situation. Would UNDA # and organotherapy affect the efficacy of birth control pill (concern about pregnancy). I know that I need to continue the treatment, however, how do I explain it to her so we don't concern about accident pregnancy? Thank you for your input. Guest guest
Thank you, Loreen, for your suggestion. I took her off the hormonal #s, 10, and 21, and also the organotherapy (interestedly, she only took one dose of luteinum and not folliculinum). I will work on her liver so she can process the birth control pills. She has been on BCP for 7 years, and this was first time that her period was out of schedule in 7 years, the mense came 1.5 weeks early. No migraine before the flow. I wonder if it is due to she was not taking the BCP in those 1.5 week, less synthetic hormones in her system. She had migraines few times a year before a car accident two years ago. She had hurt her neck in the accident and she since had migraines weekly until I treated her neck pain. The migraines has been reduced to once a month around period and she has been very moody before period. This is really a good learning case, see how powerful the organotherapy and UNDA #s are . I will let her continue on seeds rotation. I don't see the seeds rotation would affect her cycle. What do you think? Guest guest
Don't forget that women on the pill who experience migraines have a greatly increased risk for stroke....especially migraines with aura. In fact, the official recommendation of The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology says to stop the pill. Are any of the the other ACHES questions positive? Abdominal pain? Chest pain/SOB? Headaches (Yes) Eye/vision changes? leg pain/calf pain? Just a thought... , ND Women's Health Resident NCNM, Oregon --- MOrei71656@... wrote: > Thank you, Loreen, for your suggestion.
