TONAWANDA HOUSING AUTHORITY: Kudos to the new board, put in place by

City of Tonawanda Mayor Ron Pilozzi, for dropping the politics and

working toward getting things done. With the mold issue under

control and a $5 million state grant on the way, things are looking

up for the Hinds Street apartments.

TONAWANDA HOUSING AUTHORITY: While we see the good, we also see the

bad. The authority's executive secretary, Fitzsimmons, finally

has decided to start talking about the mold issue now that a new

board is in place. It is shameful to think residents' health may

have been put at risk over politics. In the future, we'd hope that

Fitzsimmons would cooperate with the board, no matter who is

elected, to ensure the safety of residents.
