I know that you must be at least a 3, but it sounds like you are a bit beyond that to use filters and tyvek suits, which means that you are reacting to exposures, but compensating for it. A 3 isn't forced to compensate, so that steps you up to PIR 4.>>>> Hi : Forgive the long delay in response; I've been busy and was gone most of today. And behind in my domestic duties. It's Spring planting time in my city. I was trained in preventative measures. I believe in prevention in all areas and teach it to as many as will listen. It's much easier to prevent an illness or any damage than it is trying to repair the damage. Do you agree with this? I teach people to inspect their homes on a monthly basis from floor to attic for possible water leaks and moisture problems. I do the same. Lol my husband even bought me one of those flashlights I can put on my head so I have two free hands while inspecting our attic. It's a wonderful tool. I also teach and apply myself basic routine maintenance necessary to avoid repairs such as caulking my windows, making sure my A/C drain lines are clear, checking my oil and other fluid levels in my vehicle, having routine fluid changes, checking the tire pressures, etc. in my vehicle. I walk around my property looking for ants hills close to our foundation, any damage to the wood on the outside, for termites and so forth every month. I practice organic gardening and non-toxic building materials. My entire home is painted on the inside with no-VOC paint. I teach others to do the same and explain why; especially with small children and nurseries and those with respiratory ills, the immune compromised and the elderly; not to forget the MCSers and those reactive to VOC and other chemicals and fragrances. I teach them to check and change their A/C and furnace filters and purchase the correct ones, how to shop for and cook healthier foods and share my inexpensive co-ops for good foods and teach the poor how to cook healthy on a very limited budget; how to make safe, organic baby wipes, etc. When I'm outside working in my garden and apply diatomaceous earth to control unwanted pests in my garden, I use a face mask to avoid damaging my respiratory system. When I turn over my compost, spread my compost, and work with it in the garden I wear gloves, my tyvek coveralls and face mask. When I painted my wrought iron front gate with the enamel I used a charcoal respirator. Lol even the home repair shows on TV are teaching people prevention and are shown using their face masks while sanding and the respirators when using enamel. Isn't this wonderful! When I had contractors in my home I would offer them face masks and insist they use them while they where cutting my hardwood floors, sanding down my sheetrock, cutting my ceramic tiles and mixing the grout for my floors or other dusty work. I offered them disposable gloves while painting so they wouldn't have to scrape the paint under the finger nails. They liked the masks and gloves, they loved my non-toxic sealers, my non-toxic caulks and no-VOC paints; most had never used them and thanked me. I was happy I could supply them with some basic prevention. When I go into a field to wildcraft some herbs that is covered with high grass I'll have on my rubber boots up to my knees and gloves just in case there is a snake in there and I'll disturb it and it might want to protect itself by attacking me. During heavy mosquito season I have on long sleeves and pants and my homemade insect repellant because I don't wish to be bitten and possible get West Nile Virus. I love the idea of inexpensive tyvek coveralls to use outside when I get very dirty working happily in my garden. They are disposable after a few uses and certainly much less inexpensive than washing the clothes, paying for the non-toxic detergent, the water usage and the electricity plus they are an wonderful and very inexpensive " sauna " during the hot summer days. I take milk thistle seeds and other supplements (specific for me) to protect me for the environmental toxins we are all exposed to daily to help my liver and my body to process the toxins. I will keep a pair of tyvek coveralls in my vehicle, along with my charcoal mask just in case I am in a dangerous situation or if I need to visit someone who I know lives in a toxic environment to prevent any further exposures for me. Do you consider me and others who use preventative measures as wise individuals or as you stated about me: " are reacting to exposures but compensating for it " ? I consider myself wise because I have read and understand that there are hazards in the world and so many wonderful and inexpensive protocols available to us so we can protect ourselves from possible contamination and damage. And why would I be such a fool to risk contamination and further damage to my already compromised body when inexpensive tools are available for me? I am so happy that I have the knowledge to protect myself and share with others and delighted when they apply these tools for themselves. I'm sure you will agree and I know you are encouraging and teaching others to do the same. Rosie
Guest guest
Rosie, You are wonderful in my book. We can all learn alot from you. You work VERY hard not only to keep yourself safe, but also in helping others to be safe, and live a safer lifestyle. You go out on a limb to give experience and knowledge to all of us. For that I want to " Thank You. " For the life of me, I cannot imagine someone attacking you for what your doing. Your advice is something ALL of us can use. You don't give advice that is impossible to use. Let's face it. We all have to work (well most of us), we all have to provide homes, food, clothing, schooling, and so forth for our families. (most of us do) So, your advice is something all of us can value. You do not offer suggestion that are essentially financially over board, and damaging to our families. We love you Rosie, keep up the good work. RE: []: mold paradigm, PIR - >>>>----- On Behalf Of erikmoldwarrior > Hmmm. Let's see.
