Guest guest
Hi , I think that aconite would be a great remedy for her. However, I would use it cautiously b/c it really works to open up doors to past trauma and the patient must be ready to go there. When I have used it I use high potency- 50LMK or so. I agree with Leni to gently nourish her, and treat her adrenals, and address sleep. this may allow her the build up the strength necessary to deal with the internal trauma. Speaking from a shamanic viewpoint she would probably benefit from a soul retrieval. If you want more info on that, let me know. I like the idea of COPs and I wonder if you can check her neurotrans levels- most likely she is all askew. Hope this helps, Lang, ND Brattleboro, VT 05301 wrote: > , > > What an incredible history and so classic sycotic miasm. I look > forward to seeing what our colleagues have to say. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have read the responses to this posting with great interest. I have often wondered why more students don't post their ideas and questions--it's a great way to learn to think things through with the input from other more experienced minds! Although I am still an ND student, I used to be a psychotherapist, and my feeling on opening the doors to past trauma is that they open when they need to. This often occurs in conjunction with other life changes, and most frequently with the support of people that patients have learned to trust over time. People NEED their defenses--that is why they are constructed in the first place. I know that that is true psychologically and I can only assume that the same is true physically, since a separation between the two is nonexistent. When I was a therapist, I was an " oddball " therapist who rarely tackled problems head-on. I found that it was much more effective to raise the general psychological health and knowledge of my patients through education and a trusting partnership. Gradually, their " problems " began to fall away, and the really great part was that new ones did not develop because change had occurred at a fundamental level of their understanding of themselves and how they relate to the world. Since I am a generalist, I can only hope and assume that the same is true of the human organism at all levels and states. If we directly approach something that is " holding " we are likely to encounter resistance (think child holding a toy or adult holding an opinion ). If we approach other areas and improve the overall vibration/energy/function of the entire organism, doesn't it follow that the holding areas will relax in their own time? When the organism is functioning better is a much more advantageous time to aggressively reeducate it toward optimal physiology. It seems to me that this is the area that is easy to miss and fail the patient on. Once the symptoms go away it is so tempting to cut them loose, until their next problem develops. You will never find the answer in the problem. Perhaps all of this is obvious to all of you, but I find it is so easy in our problem-and-answer focused society to reduce treatment to this fix-the- problem paradigm. Unless we are totally conscious about what we are doing we can fall into this mire. Since this group was constructed toward the aim of doing things differently, I would love to see people tell us their thought process a bit more when they give their input. As a student, that would really help me, as sometimes things SEEM to get symptom focused, but perhaps I am missing the points you all are making between the lines due to my inexperience. As pertains to this case specifically, I can't help but think that for someone who has been violated at a young age (and interesting to notice that the last time she was physically invaded--the polyp removal, seems to have precipitated both the vaginal bleeding and the weight gain--a classic defense), the aspects of treatment that will allow her to open up to the world again will be crucial--ie anything having to do with the lungs, esp. deep lung breathing. Any part of the treatment that helps her learn how to care for herself (all the BTGs) will be therapeutic. Anything that builds trust between doctor and patient will be huge. Learning to trust her own knowledge of what is right for her, either physically or emotionally will strengthen her on a deep level so that she can let go of any of the aspects of her defenses that are no longer necessary. Of course the pain and bleeding need to be addressed, but these seem like mere details of her overall healing process. This overall process will likely be very lengthy, but what a gift for her to be able to undertake it and you, , to witness it! I welcome any feedback--I am trying to learn as much as I can! Guest guest
Christie, very insightful and well articulated. I am sure your perspective will benefit me with my clients.
