Hi Jill.

As I read your note I wonder about " yin " deficency with this patient. Chronic weakness, dryness, aggravated by some of the things being given to her (many of which have more astringent qualities)- I might think of adding in some herbs or gemmos (to the btgs you are already doing) that have more nourishing aspects to them. It's sometimes a fine balance between nourishing and supporting a system enough so it has the strength to utilize other treatments and is able to detox and clear.

[unda cases]:Q: itching

I have a 34 year old female that I am having trouble with her skin

itching.

She presented with itching on the 4th finger of the right hand( no

ring), anal itching on the right side only, right side of labia (no

discharge no smell). All this itching started in university. She

has a very weakened immune system as she chief complaint was

frequent colds/flus. It seems that everytime I give her something,

her skin gets worse and now it is worse than ever.

Here is a list of what we have done in order:

1. Betula/Zea Mais Gemmo, Liquid Vit A, Zinc, Immune Tincture, wet

socks, nasal lavage, EFAs

2. Allysin, Immune tincture, immune tea,

3. Replete, 12-17-270, 1-20-243, castor oil packs and other basic

treatment guidelines (plus the EFA and Vit A.

4. Berberis, Black Walnut, Candicin rotating everyday

In addition she noted a bald spot on her head before coming to see

me initially which is now growing back.

I need some help as to which direction to go that will not aggravate

her. She is now feeling more itchy than ever before. Help, please.

Hi Jill

I agree about more nourishing treatments, you may be stimulating too much as the skin is a secondary emunctory and whatever is on the inside that is a problem is trying to come out in the skin. I often will think of the digestive tract and particularly gallbladder and deficiency of bile salts when there is chronic systemic itchying. What is her digestion like? What about blue green algae or Pro Green supplement, I have found some success with this as well.

Just some thoughts

Dear Jill

Have you checked her heavy metal status?
