another smoothie question...and preparing ahead of time

I think someone said on here before that they will make their

smoothie, take it to work and put it in the freezer, and then take

it out 30 min. before it's time to eat it. Has anyone made any

smoothies on sunday for the entire week? Just kept them in the

freezer, take them to work, etc?

I think I've found that my problem is that I don't have food already

prepared when I'm starving, so then I screw up. I want to try

something new this week and see how much I can prepare and put in

little dishes beforehand so I have no excuse!

I work two jobs so I am home for very few meals. On my nights off, I usually

cook 1 or 2 recipes from the Eating for Life cookbook so I just grab a

tupperware container and head out the door. I also keep fruit and cottage

cheese in the fridge at work (at my day job) so I can grab it quick for

mid-meals and I always have a advantage bar (carb sense) in my purse for

emergencies. Hope this helps! Oh, BTW, the Turkey Bacon Quiche from the Eating

for Life was a great breakfast dish to make ahead of time and only took a

minute to microwave each morning this week!

HI!

I had been mixing my shakes in the morning before leaving my house

and then putting them in the freezer at work and drinking about 8

hours later. The Myoplex website says you should consume their shake

within 8 hours of mixing. I emailed Optimum Nutrition as I use their

Pro-Complex protein powder and make shakes with it. Here was their

email response to me:

" We recommend that you drink the protein within an hour of mixing it

mainly for freshness reasons. Eventually the protein is going to

break down and the product is not going to be as potent as it was

when first liquefied. "

I prefer my shakes SUPER cold so I like to make mine and then let it

sit in the freezer for awhile. Otherwise, I would just have to use a

shaker cup and make it here at work and drink it right away but it is

never very cold when I do that.

I suspect the differences come from the fact that no one really knows for sure.

That or the same people that put out all those contradictory reports out answer

the question. I think if you ask the same question often enough you can get the

answer you are looking for. Sometimes it's frustrating to figure out the

*right* answer.

Another interesting thing....I was using the Revival Soy Protein

shakes and I called them to ask this question. They said you could

even mix up the night before!!!!! Maybe because this protein is

SOY?! I have no idea why the differences between the different

companies. If anyone comes up with some concrete information please

share!!!!! It just works so much better for me (and is colder) for

me to mix first thing in the morning and bring to work with me to eat

at lunch time!!!
